Subcommittee Statement of Purpose Our purpose as a subcommittee is to actively involve Torchbearers in the Akron community of mental health and addiction service providers, help members to be leaders who are aware of mental health struggles, and educate members on personal mental wellness.
First year members will understand basic principles of change and the strengths and motivation they have to help lead through change. They will also discuss how to positively influence and remain flexible in times of change. The session will be held in the Key Bank room in the American Red Cross building.
Mission: We are a subcommittee of CIC with a purpose to help Torchbearers and its members adopt sustainable practices by presenting opportunities for exploration, education and implementation of these practices. The event is a young professional forum with our presumptive mayor, Shammas Malik. It will give young professionals in the Torchbearers and AULYP organizations a chance to have their voices heard by him in a forum-style discussion.
