The Read Family Friend of Young Leaders Award recognizes an individual, business or organization that has made a significant impact on the development of young professionals in the Greater Akron area. The recipient consistently and for an extended period, has demonstrated outstanding support for the education, career development and leadership engagement of local young professionals, specifically members of Torchbearers or the organization as a whole. The recipient has actively and significantly assisted young leaders in realizing their full leadership potential.
Distinguished Alumni Award: Mayor Shammas Malik – TB Class of 2017
The Distinguished Alumni award recognizes a Torchbearers Alumni who has used the skills and connections acquired through their Torchbearers membership to actively and significantly assist young leaders in realizing their full leadership potential.
