Learn the basics and terms of crocheting. Learn how to do straight lines, rounds, changing yarn color, different stitches, the differences of yarn weight (thickness), and hook size.
Supplies Needed:
1) A skein (roll) or two of yarn. Katie will be using worsted yarn (weight 4, it will say worsted and 4 on the label). This is the “typical” yarn you see at Walmart, JoAnne, Michaels, etc. She likes like Red Heart brand. Two different colors would be good to see color changes, but one will do.
2) A crochet hook. She has different sizes, but she likes to use the size I (the letter I) for worsted. If you use skinnier yarn (less than 4), then a smaller hook is better.
3) Any size safety pin or paper clip – to be used as a stitch marker to know your place
4) Scissors
