Talking candidly about race can be daunting, but we recognize that doing so is necessary to further social change. You are invited to a judgement-free conversation about racism and what it looks like to journey/transform from being non-racist to anti-racist. Prior to our learning group, we ask that you digest a few resources before joining your peers in a facilitated discussion. Together, we will explore actionable steps to enhance intercultural competence and fight systemic oppression in a meaningful way. Our goal is to learn from each other and grow together.
Materials to check out before the conversation:
Mandatory activity (10 minutes): Project Implicit / Harvard (You are NOT going to be asked to share results, this is just so you can get to know yourself better!)
Choose at least one of the options below:
Short Article (6 minutes): Is Your Company Actually Fighting Racism, or Just Talking About It?
Social Media Thread (3 minutes): Types of Racial Microaggressions
Videos (18 minutes): Decoded / Franchesca Ramsey
