2024 Akron Transgender Day Of Visibility

There will be a variety of opportunities to volunteer at the event. We will need people to set up for the event, hang decorations, move chairs/tables, run our craft tables, help the caterer with food, work the welcome table, and help with our selfie station.

This is a TB5 Service Event, awarding volunteers with 5 service points per every hour volunteered.

Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) celebrates trans people of all sexes, gender identities, sexual orientations, races, colors, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, ages, abilities, physical or mental health statuses, financial statuses, and educational attainments. It is a day dedicated to honoring our progress, resilience, and growing visibility as a community.
This year’s event will feature similar activities to previous years PLUS a few new additions. Our venue this year, Bounce Innovation Hub, allows for more space, more parking, more resources, and more fun!
(No-cost) activities offered:
– Community awards
– Raffle featuring goods from local trans supportive businesses
– Delicious food and desserts
– Crafts throughout the venue to chill & hang out with friends
– Gender affirming clothing pop up
– Resources and representatives from local organizations
– Amateur trans+ open mic
– Swag bags full of goodies
– Dance party
