Held Saturday, May 20 in the Merriman Valley, this year’s AkRun & Crawl drew hundreds of runners for the annual 5K race, which followed the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail.
Like last year, the event kicked off after dark following introductions from Torchbearers President Michael Wilson, as well as special guest, Akron City Council President Marilyn Keith, who issued an official proclamation on behalf of the City of Akron.
As our primary fundraiser, all proceeds from this event benefit Torchbearers. We would like to recognize our sponsors, including: Second Sole; Coffee and Code; Wealth Impact Advisors; FirstEnergy Foundation; Tru Barre Studio; and the Valley Bar District. All proceeds help us achieve our mission to enhance Greater Akron by investing in the development, connection and engagement of our membership comprised of evolving leaders with a passion to impact our community.
A special thank you goes out to Jonathan Houk and Amanda Parker, AkRun & Crawl co-chairs, as well as the Events Committee and all Torchbearers volunteers who helped to make this event a success.
