Katherine Bercik has worked as a volunteer coordinator for Family Promise of Summit County for the past five years. Family Promise is a non-profit organization that helps homeless families stay together as they search for sustainable housing.
Katherine’s involvement includes recruiting and supervising volunteers to supply meals and support to the program’s network of hosts. More recently, Katherine participated as a mentor in Family Promise’s first group mentoring program under the Open Table model.
Katherine has also volunteered with organizations such as the Junior League of Akron, Akron-Canton Food Bank, One of A Kind Pet Rescue, among other organizations.
Katherine’s current projects include making cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids as a part of a commitment made through Because I Said I Would, as well as planning the development of a guaranteed income fund (The Launch Fund) for families who “graduate” from Family Promise.
